Topic4 Memories

The days in America have passed so fast! I experienced many things.

In classes, I knew idioms which help me understand American people. I got used to writing essays in English. I learned what makes presentations better. On weekends, I enjoyed sights out of Irvine. In my homestay, I learned American culture and had a lot of fun with my hostfamily.

Many people helped me everywhere. Teachers, classmates, hostfamily, new friends, they are very kind. Even strangers talked to me when I got a trouble. I realized the value of support. I want to be kind and able to help someone like them.
I really thank all people I met. Of course I thank you, my wonderful teacher and all classmates!

I'm happy I stayed in Irvine. See you again someday.

Topic3 Memorable Destination

My most memorable destination is San Diego. My host family, that is, the parents, their son, and his cousin took me there. The son and his cousin are high school students, but look matured.

First, we had early lunch at a restaurant on the way to San Diego. They said it would get so crowded at lunchtime. My host mother recommend turkey for me, so I tried it for the first time. It is like chicken and tastes good. I like it.

Then we arrived San Diego. The sea was very beautiful. To my joy, it was sunny. I like to see shining sea very much. I took many pictures, and the cousin took more pictures. She loves taking pictures and she is skillful. After that, we visited the natural history museum. There are many skulls, zoological specimens and so on. I enjoyed them. I also visited an art museum. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to look thoroughly. However, the art works were wonderful.

On the day, I had a lot of fun thanks to my host family. They are kind and friendly. I really love them. I will make the most of the rest of stay with them.

Topic2 The person I admire

I admire my teacher of the choir. I'm from Wakayama city near Osaka,and I was a member of Wakayama children's choir. I had sung in the choir for about 9 years and graduated 3 years ago.
The teacher is a man who teaches students very strictly. He sometimes scold loudly and uses strong words. Everyone is frightened of being scolded. However, all students trust and love him, because what he says is always convincing. He tells us to make effort rather then to sing well.  He has great ability, but it is not natural. He is very strict with himself and goes to great lengths. If he was not strict with himself but strict with us, we would not follow him. Also, he knows many things well and tells students that. He always cares students and I learned a lot of important things. He is the best teacher I ever had. I love and admire him. I would like to become a person like him. I'm trying to be strict with myself and work hard.

Topic1 introduction

Hello!
I'm Yuri Nakata,from Japan.

Let me introduce myself.
I have parents and a elder sister,who is 24 years old now, and a cat. But I'm living alone near the university in Japan.
I'm studying history and theory of art. For example,in a class, I choose one picture and think why the artist painted in that way. It's so interesting for me. I like drawing and painting since I was little, and now I like oil painting the best. My works are kind of abstract.
Also, I had been a member of a children's choir for 9 years, and I love singing. Singing harmony is very delightful.
